Switching from the Genesis Framework to Beaver Builder Theme – Live Changes

In this WordPress tutorial, we will be switching from an old Genesis Theme named Education to the Beaver Builder theme. We will also be using the Beaver Builder plugin as well as Beaver Builder Themer.

As a side note, we love the Genesis Framework and Beaver Builder. We use both for our own sites and for client sites based on the client’s needs and wants.

Before you get started:

  • Backup your Site – We always recommend taking a backup of your WordPress website before doing anything, especially something as major as switching the theme and changing most of the site.
  • We recommend the following which all offer free and pro versions based on your needs: UpDraft, BackWPUp and WP Time Capsule to help you create a backup.
  • Lastly, huge changes are better done on a staging server. Quite a few hosts offer staging as apart of the service you have, for example, SiteGround offers this in their GrowBig plan, WP Engine offers this on all plans and FlyWheel hosting offers this as well as a local staging option named: Local – check it out here.
