How to Add YouTube Video Transcript into WordPress

thank you so much for watching the press avenue wordpress tutorials YouTube channel my name is John and today we're gonna be talking about adding a video transcript to your WordPress website so here we are in pres Avenue com it's our WordPress website we have blogs of each of the videos we've created and within those we have obviously a title the YouTube video itself a little bit of description and then at the bottom it says YouTube transcript and has all this great text here so this is transcribed for free by YouTube so we didn't pay a service we didn't write it out we just took what YouTube made and the reason is it has a lot of the keywords that we were looking to have in our blog post now in the blog post itself so didn't have to write all this out YouTube did it for me it'll business etc alright so let's get to it why would I add a video transcript to my blog post so you saw back here I do have text that I had to write and then this I just took from the plug-in description and then you can see all this here this fulfills that minimum 300 word limit minimum limit limit for SEO and it also has a ton of keywords but it's more than that if I look at my stats so here we are this is just a Google Analytics plug-in by WP engine that shows the last year so over the from February to August we only have a few blog posts and it really only grows if you look maybe 200 new sessions a month which is just probably just slow organic growth and at the end of the year we started adding video transcripts to blogposts so we've started going back with this method that we're going to show you and just pasting in those the content and those words and you can see here so September to October there's 300 October November there's 400 and then this is where it starts to jump so one or two hundred at the beginning of the year per month then growing in the 200s so from here to here is growing in the 400s and from 400 that's 300 and then so here's the biggest jump here December is when we started pushing the transcripts right like crazy started reshoring the old posts making sure google is coming and crawling our site we're jumping a thousand sessions in one month which is huge and we didn't really do anything different I'm just blogging the same amount and just repurposing that old content with video transcriptions all right so let's get into it let's close this here's a video we made the other day and so I just paused it that's what I look like that you used to have to go to YouTube studio or manage the channel and go to edit video to get this stuff but now you can go to the three dots and go to open transcript and I got a bunch of stuff on the side so here's the transcript here so right now I'm saying please hit that red subscribe button and hit that little bell so I'm talking about right there so in the past you would copy this here and then have to remove the numbers now you can go the three dots again and the top right of that and turn off the timestamps so let's scroll to the very top and then I'll copy this transcript sounds long so I'll hit copy and then if I go back to my post so I've created a new post this is using the Guttenberg block editor in WordPress 5.0 all I've done is create a title the next block down as a paragraph and I'll paste this so there it is there and nothing is in sentence form and the problem with straight pasting it is you get words that run together so you see through another a tool so the problem is you need to remove the line breaks so this is a line break removal tool that I like using at text fixer com and what you do is you paste this in so what it's doing is when I paste it into Guttenberg it's just moving this up a line without the space so then I get this video and which isn't a word and so say remove line breaks and paragraph breaks after I do that and I come in here and you see right here through space another so it completely cleans that up so now I'll copy this go back to my post and paste this in so you can see where the spaces got added very quickly and then at the top here I say video transcript kind of clean this up a little bit since there's no sentences and then I put in my keyword I usually enter this down make this bold and then there you have it so that's how we do it if you have any questions about how to get your video transcript how to use WordPress or
